New ink makes for a very happy Jen

"Your body is a temple, but how long can you live in the same house before you redecorate?"

I didn't want to say anything, just in case I jinxed it, but I had my rescheduled tattoo appointment yesterday. I showed up at 1. Hubby worked through his lunch hour so he could come up there and help me pick out the flower style and placement. I figure, he's the one who's going to have to look at it for forever, right?

The tattoo artist was Casey Cokrlic. Seriously, he's the man. We talked about the kinds of flowers I wanted, and he free handed them on me. Pretty cool not to have flash (the tattoo pics on the wall) just copied and pasted on me. Plus, he was able to work with the work I already have.

Here he is, drawing it on me. He first sketched out everything in red, and then went back with the ink pen and finalized the drawing.

We went with just the line work today, and made the appointment to finished it for June 10th. Tattoos seem to heal better when you split it up and not do too much at one time.

So here it is now. We (I say we like I did anything besides sit there, LOL) did cherry blossoms around the whole thing, with a chrysanthemum at the bottom.

With a big peony on the back side. I think I'm going to have him add a few more cherry blossoms on the inside of my arm (ouch) but I think it'd fill it in better. Hubby wants me to do gray whispy smoke around the whole thing, but I'm undecided. He says it'd fill it in more, Casey said it'd make it a heavier piece. But I figure, I'm little and girly, I don't need a huge heavy tattoo. But I might change my mind, I dunno.

Hubby of course, starting jonesing for a new tattoo while he was there. So we scheduled him an appointment for the 10th too. He has a tribal shoulder cap and the upper part of his arm done. They're talking about adding some black Japanese waves and a big koi fish, and turning it into a 3/4 sleeve.

So, share. Tattoos, yay or nay? Do you have any? Plan to get any more? Love them but couldn't do it?

Cool! I haven't gotten a tat yet, I haven't yet decided what I want to have for the rest of my life.....plus I don't like to part with that kind of money ;-)

i'm so jealous... i have two little ones but the husband is not a fan, so i don't think i'll be getting any more. but yours are gorgeous. i love the skull.

I must say that's impressive! I love the flowers.

Personally for me I wouldn't do it. When I was younger I wanted to get a tiger on my shoulder blade, but I think my tastes change too often to stick to something forever. I have a friend who has lots of tats and regrets most of them. Although I must say I enjoy seeing dads with tats running around playgrounds with their kids. I always imagine they're tough on the outside, softie on the inside. :)

I have 2 so far! A large antique key on my wrist and the word Balance down my spine in my own handwriting. up next - a large feather down my side!

So you only had the skull before is that correct? I love all the flowers around it but couldn't tell if some were there before. I love tats. I have one to commemorate my still-born daughter on my leg but that is it so far. I want to get two more on each fit, the very hungry caterpillar and the beautiful butterfly to commemorate when I finally reach my weight loss goal. It is just the motivation I need. So yay on tattoos as long as they are not on the head, I don't know why but they really bother me.
