What I'm Loving Wednesday 4-6-2011

So, I've been feeling pretty blah lately. Life is good, I have no complaints. But blah about my blog. While I blog for me, it's a bit of a downer day after day to do what I think is an insightful or fun post, and then get only a couple of comments. And while I am years out of high school, and Blogland isn't a popularity contest, it's hard not to be bummed sometimes, ya know? I'm guilty of it too, I follow a bazillion blogs, so it's easy to just scroll thru posts on Google reader, and while I may enjoy a post that is totally deserving of a comment, I just scroll past it to read the rest, and forget or neglect to come back to it. But that's something I need to work on. Can't whine about it if I'm not even doing it, right?

But anywho, I digress. Time to get back to being positive. Whining gets ya nowhere.

So, I'm linking up with Jamie in today's link party.

1. I'm loving that I did Day One of the Insanity workout last night. I did so much better than I thought I would! I'm just tired of always bitching about the 4 lbs I want to lose (as I grab another Coke from the fridge and sit on the couch). Time to do something about it.

2. I'm loving that it's hubby's birthday next Tuesday. The big 2-8! I plan on making him a fun cake. Not going to tell you what I'm attempting, in case it's a huge disaster and I end up with a big blobby mass of cake mush on a plate. I hope he loves what I got for him.

3. I'm loving that my father in law is coming to visit on Friday. Which means that sometime between now and then, my house will stop looking like a tornado hit it and I'll actually have cleaned by then. Oh, and I like him too so that's always a plus.

4. I'm loving that this weekend, we're driving down to San Antonio. Going to check out the Alamo and the Riverwalk. I went to both of those when I graduated from basic training in 1999, but I don't really remember them.

5. I'm loving how sore I still am this morning from my workout! Means I totally kicked ass last night. Oh, and a word of warning. Do NOT do a Google search for "sore body". Ummmm, ewwww. Not images that I want to see this early in the morning.

omg keep blogging! I check you every day but rarely comment.... I love your blog! You're funny, creative, you have an attitude and you share your life with us :) Keep it coming!

I find the best way to get my house super-clean is to invite company over, so I feel ya there. Good luck on the cake, and can't wait to see what you got your hubs for his bday!

Ha ha! 'sore body'... We just had to turn on 'moderately safe search' or whatever because the kids are ALL OVER the computer, and I'm now spared surprise graphicness at the hands of google. What's it called, rule 34 or something? 'If it exists, there's porn of it' or whatever? So true.

I envy you and your insanity. We've been talking about buying p90x for awhile (neither of us is ready for insanity right now. We'd hurt ourselves). I think we just need to bite the $200 bullet and get it. An IRL friend of mine is a Beachbody trainer, so I could get it from her, but they always want to sell you the shake stuff. I can make my own shakes. Geeze.

Jealous of you and your trip to the Alamo. I really like San Antonio. We used to go on Girl Scout trips when I was little. :-)

Ditto what Kristen said, I love San Antonio. I went once, back in '92. Sure doesn't seem that long ago..... I hear ya about the posts. If a post isn't hooked up to a linky party, I might get two or three views and maybe a comment from one of my buds.

You literally are my favorite blog so keep it up!!! Not unlike you I very rarely leave comments, in fact I think your blog is the only one that I usually comment on, him stalker? NAH, don't worry. I wanted to comment on you #5 what not to search for, I am creating my daughters and Asian themed room and searched Mulan because seriously it has some GREAT images, I don't recommend that search either, EWWWWW!

Ah, that first paragraph is me exactly! I love reading blogs and get so much inspiration, but usually just in my reader. I always have these good intentions of coming back and leaving this awesomely funny or uplifting comment, but sometimes I forget.
I like your attitude, and how open you are with us, reading your posts is like sitting next to a good friend just shootin the shit ya know?

Bravo on doing The Insanity workout. I so want to try P90X, but I'm not ready for that yet. Heck, Zumba twice a week is kicking my butt right now, ugh..

I live in Oklahoma and have never been to the Alamo, I would love to go someday!

Awww I read your blog every single day! I look forward to seeing what you have to say. I'm usually so shy and I don't comment much, but this made me feel like I needed to tell you how awesome you are!

Congrats on the workout. I know how you feel about those pesky pounds. I like to watch The Biggest Loser while eating pizza LOL! Keep up the good work lady! :)

Definitely keep blogging. I've been lame about commenting on all my fav blogs lately. I'll blame the new puppy for constantly interrupting me. I like to blame her for things. She can't defend herself online.

And I wish someone were coming to visit me this weekend. Then maybe my house would get cleaned. Maybe. At least the visible parts. :)
