Versatile Blogger Award? Why thank you!

The fabulous Kristen at Kristen's Creations nominated little ole me for the Versatile Blogger Award.

Same basic rules as the Stylish Blogger Award.

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers.
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award, and
let the giver know you accept the award!

So thank you, dear Kristen, for thinking of me!

Let's see. 7 things about me. Eek. I've already shared 7 things here and 7 more here. And now I need to come up with 7 more interesting, fun facts about yours truly. Let's hope I'm that interesting! I'm not, but we'll pretend, k?

1. I was in the Air Force for 4 years, from 1998 to 2002. My job was electronics calibration (PMEL). My tech school was in Biloxi, Mississippi. And the two bases I was stationed at were Osan AB, South Korea, and Misawa AB, Japan. I'm still friends with my first supervisor, he's stationed in San Antonio and we meet them for breakfast every couple of months.

2. I really want a tank of poison dart frogs. I think they're beautiful. But I know that I wouldn't be able to keep up with their their specific needs, despite my best intentions, so I just enjoy watching them at the zoo or aquarium. I mean, does anyone really want to hear about my poison dart frog funeral if I mess up and kill these suckers? Plus, they're like $70. EACH. So you'd be coming to my funeral too when hubby kills me for killing a $70 pet. No thank you.

3. When I was younger, a scene in Dumbo gave me nightmares. I've heard from a few people (like my hubby) that the wolf scene in Neverending Story scared them as a child. Mine was the part in Dumbo where they accidentally get drunk and hallucinate, I think it's called Pink Elephants on Parade? Scary Dancing Elephant Craziness? Something like that. But it's elephants that are ice skating, dancing around, etc. Seriously, scared the crap out of me. Even this picture gives me the heebie jeebies.

4. I start every morning with a Coke. I've tried to quit drinking soda, and even dropped 5 lbs when I did. But I love my Coke. And yes, I know soda isn't good for you. But I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I rarely drink. You gotta give me something.

5. I can hoop dance. I saw an ad in a magazine a billion years ago that hooping was the new "it" workout, and stars like Beyonce liked to hoop. So I went online and found out more about it, ordered a hoop (not a kids hoop like you'd find at Walmart) and have loved it ever since. I even got my sister in law hooked on it. It's great workout, I just crank up some music and start. End up sweating my butt off. Still don't know what I'm talking about? This is one of the teaching videos I ordered. And yes, I can do the stuff in the video. And no, I don't have the big furry boots. But if I did, they'd be hot pink. That'd be awesome.

6. I've read just about every Stephen King book there is. Except for The Stand. Which I own, but have never read. Hubby is awesome, and keeps track of when his new books are released, and always orders them for me so they are delivered to the doorstep.

7. Hubby and I took a marriage evaluation test a few months ago. It just tells you a bit about each person, what your strengths/weaknesses are, and how to better understand each other. We have an amazing marriage, and I think it's because we are always looking for ways to improve it. It compared you to 4 animals, depending on what your answers are.

-lion- leader, assertive, opinionated, focuses on the big picture, determined, aggressive
-otter- life of the party, talkative, socialite
-beaver- attention to detail, very neat and organized, doesn't like change, checks out all the options
-golden retriever- people pleaser, team player, goes with the flow

Me? Extremely high lion and otter, very low beaver and golden retriever. Hubby? Extremely high  beaver and golden retriever, very low lion and otter. I thought it was really interesting that we are exact opposites of each other, but that's probably why we work together so well. Rawr.

I'm one of your newest readers!! :) And I just had to tell you that both Dumbo and the wolf scene in Neverending story scared me when I was little. haha And I didn't like the scary part in Winnie the Pooh where the heffalumps and woozels run around in his nightmare either. LOL :)

Congratulations on the award!

And I hadn't really heard of hoopdance before, but it looks like a lot of fun. The last time I was close to hulahooping was on the Wii Fit and it wore me out! I might have to give this dance a try. :-)

I just loved your reading your 7 things. I thought the elephant scene was creepy, too! I remember the scene and always thought it was from Fantasia. Forgot it was from Dumbo.

Thank you so much for the incredible awards! You are so fun. I love the poison frogs and the hoop dancing. I owned an African frog for seven years. I bought him through a "Grow A Frog" kit an had the pleasure of taking care of him since he was a wee tad pole. Unlike what most people think, frogs make awesome pets! Have a great day!
